Two of the most undersung heroes of the Golden State Warriors season, Kevon Looney and Andrew Wiggins have consistently brought life to their team.

The Dubs are just three games away from a return to the NBA Finals despite the Splash Brothers going through strange growing pains at various points. If it weren’t for Looney and Wiggins, these droughts from Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson could be devastating.

Instead, the constant hustle of Looney and the tertiary scoring of Wiggins have lifted the team to its current position.

Kevon Looney and Andrew Wiggins have exceeded expectations, giving the Golden State Warriors everything they need to reach the NBA Finals.

We’ll start with Wiggins.

Joining the Warriors as a disgraced former No. 1 overall pick, the first time All-Star has been proving everyone wrong all season. Yet, he continues to take steps forward on the game’s biggest stage.

Wiggins was crucial in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals, delivering on both ends of the floor. Not only did Wiggins take on the challenge of guarding Luka Doncic — but he made sure to attack the star on offense, making it an exhausting opening game for Luka.

Wiggins is averaging 14.9 points and 6.8 rebounds on close to 50% shooting in the playoffs. He’s been a positive presence in just about every game, serving as the Dubs’ most reliable two-way player up to this point.

As for Looney, the undersized big man has been the sole reason for Golden State surviving in the paint. He’s been an absolute beast, grabbing 22 rebounds in Game 6 versus Memphis and putting his team in a position to grab rebounds by boxing out opponents.

More importantly, Looney is filling in his role offensively. He’s done a fantastic job setting screens and acting as a playmaker in the middle of the lane. The offense does not skip a beat with Looney on the floor and everything runs smoothly when he is involved.

Together, Wiggins and Lonoey have helped keep the Warriors alive even with the Splash Brothers starting off slow in multiple games.
