Moses Moody has risen to the occasion
Star potential was never really on the books for Moses Moody. No one expected him to be flashing All-Star glimmers in his first season, if ever.
Even so, most analysts could look at Moody and tell you one thing — he’s a winner.
Moody has consistently played winning basketball at every level of his career. He’s the ideal role player, with a versatile skill set that can match anything you ask of him on the perimeter. At some point, it’s a safe bet to assume he’ll be a key bench piece to a playoff team.
This day may have come sooner than expected, with Moody’s number being called in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals. With Gary Payton out for the postseason and Damion Lee giving diminishing returns — it was time for Moody to give it a go.
His numbers won’t jump off the page. They rarely do. But, playing nine minutes at the end of a WCF playoff game and finishing as a plus-8 is pretty impressive for a rookie with such limited experience.
Moody did what he has always done. He filled his role to perfection, playing enthusiastic defense and being an active member of the offense.
It’s early but the likelihood of Moody being a solid rotational piece continues to increase.
