Stephen Curry Is The Best Player In The Series

Going into this Warriors/Mavericks matchup, there was talk regarding the NBA’s “changing of the guard” with the up-and-coming Luka Doncic taking on the veteran and established player in Stephen Curry.

It seemed that the NBA’s media was ready to crown Doncic as the league’s best point guard, however with his play in this series, it’s safe to say that Curry still remains at the top.

Steph is averaging 28 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 6.7 assists on 49/48/82 shooting split in this year’s Western Conference Finals. In comparison to Luka’s 34 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 5 assists on 45/41/80 shooting splits.

Curry is averaging almost 6 fewer points per game, but is averaging more rebounds and assists, despite having the ball in his hands far less than Doncic. He has also been much more efficient scoring the basketball from all three levels and has been able to will his team to a commanding 3-0 series lead.

The Warriors’ guard has also been arguably the most impactful player in the clutch in these NBA Playoffs, leading the league in 4th quarter points per game and in total 4th quarter points.

In large part to Curry’s play, the Golden State Warriors find themselves a win away from yet another NBA Finals appearance.
