Golden State Warriors: 3 Remaining hurdles to winning a title
By Tony Pesta
It is time for the big three to shine
With all of the time that Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson have spent together wreaking havoc in the past, it is easy to forget just how long it has been since the three played alongside each other.
The big three entered the 2022 NBA Playoffs blind, sharing the court for fewer than 25 minutes in the regular season due to a carousel of injuries.
While they certainly have years of chemistry built up, it should come as no surprise that this trio does not look as airtight as it once was. Still, we have gradually seen the rust get knocked off as Curry, Thompson and Green begin to get back into old habits.
Curry is having his best series of the playoffs so far against Dallas, averaging 28.0 points, 8.3 rebounds and 6.7 assists on 48.3% 3-point shooting.
Thompson has not been as good, shooting only 27% from deep and averaging fewer than 20 points. The same goes for Green, who has been phenomenal defensively but is still looking a tad out of sorts at times.
It’s important they figure it out as it is almost impossible to beat the Warriors when all three of Curry, Green and Thompson are clicking.
The trio has been trending upwards throughout the postseason and a chance for the big three to solidify their status as NBA legends will present itself in the NBA Finals.
