Thompson is still crucial to the Warriors

The Golden State Warriors have had struggles at times with Klay Thompson on the floor during the 2022 NBA Playoffs.

Though, it’s also worth noting that when Thompson is feeling it, the Warriors are at their best.

Golden State is 4-1 this postseason when Klay scores 20+ points. Take his 30-point explosion in Game 6 versus Memphis as evidence that Thompson can elevate the Warriors to new heights.

There isn’t a better sidekick for Stephen Curry than Klay Thompson and everyone in the league knows it. When he’s on, he’s on. The duo has had some slow starts this season but is still one of the most feared in the NBA.

While the advanced analytics suggest the Dubs are better without Thompson, it’s important to keep in mind where this team was last season without him. Or the year before that.

Thompson gives the Warriors a punch that can’t be matched by any other opponent — we just wish that punch was more consistent this season.
