The Golden State Warriors are going to enter the 2022 NBA Finals as the better team, and there really shouldn’t be much discussion about that. They have four All-Star caliber players on their roster and the expertise to reach a level of play few teams in NBA history could match.

The Celtics were under .500 for some of the season and turned things around. Props can be given as to how the team has battled to get to this point, but they barely got by a Bucks side who were without All-Star guard Khris Middleton.

The Golden State Warriors will enter the NBA Finals as clear favorites and should have fate in their own hands as they take on the Boston Celtics.

The Nets were always going to be an incomplete team, posing both size and depth issues while also dealing with chemistry issues from missing Kyrie Irving for most of the season. The Celtics did complete an impressive sweet of Brooklyn though.

The Heat was better than most gave them credit for, but the injury to guard Tyler Herro did cripple their playmaking.

Two Game 7 wins for the Celtics may also carry some fatigue as they’ve been playing basically every other day for weeks now. At the end of the day though, this Finals is going to be about the Warriors and what they can do to come out on top.

Golden State, for much of the season, had the league’s best defensive rating.

Former Defensive Player of the Year Draymond Green has been the anchor of a top-tier defensive side that only relapsed when Green missed time from the middle of January to the middle of March.

Couple what Green can do on the defensive side of the court with what Stephen Curry, who has yet to truly explode, can do offensively, and it becomes a combination rarely seen. Curry is a career 42.8% three-point shooter yet is knocking down just 38% of his attempts this postseason.

Curry and Klay Thompson have yet to consistently string together efficient performances. The ceiling for this Warriors team when they get all things clicking is absurdly high, especially when including the eruption of third-year guard Jordan Poole.

Mash it all together, and the Warriors are the better team. The only question which will remain is if they’ll play like it over the course of a seven-game series.
