3 Golden State Warriors who could win NBA Finals MVP
By Tony Pesta
Andrew Wiggins
Speaking of comeback stories, Andrew Wiggins going from disgraced former No. 1 overall pick to Finals MVP in two years would be pretty incredible, no?
Even when Wiggins was named as an All-Star starter in February, many fans questioned if he was really playing at an elite level. I remember the outrage from non-Warriors fans just as well as anyone.
And here we are, with the Warriors in the finals and Wiggins acting as one of their most valuable producers.
Wiggins was pivotal in the Western Conference Finals against Dallas. He accepted the challenge of defending Luka Doncic and did so without much trouble. Sure, Doncic got his numbers, but Wiggins kept him from disrupting the Warriors’ game plan defensively.
Game 1 was a prime example of how Wiggins could sneak into the conversation. He held Jayson Tatum to just 12 points and scored 18 of his own despite the Celtics’ victory.
