Golden State Warriors player that must step up: Klay Thompson

Klay Thompson scored 15 points, so it wasn’t like he was non-existent. It was more than Thompson didn’t play up to his standard, and even he knew that.

Thompson put in 20.4 points per game during the regular season, marking his sixth straight season of hitting at least 20 points. He’s also had a few standout performances like in Game 6 against Memphis or Game 5 against Dallas.

Thompson was 6-for-14 from the field in Game 1.

He has only had 5 other performances this postseason in which he shot under 45% from the field. This type of showing isn’t typical of the five-time superstar. Thompson also played a team-high 39 minutes.

Simply put, the Warriors need Thompson to be better, and it’ll be of utmost importance that he figures it out in the near future. Golden State is 5-1 when Thompson scores 20 or more points.
