Golden State Warriors player that could see decreased minutes: Draymond Green

Draymond Green is a staple of the Golden State Warriors.

He has been for quite some time, and he’s been extremely valuable when on the court. However, the Warriors made their run from down five to up three in the fourth quarter of Game 3 with Kevon Looney and the death lineup instead of Green.

Green doesn’t possess the size or offensive rebounding of Looney, and when the Warriors are trailing late, it seems they’ll sacrifice that for additional playmaking and extra chances.

Green has seen his minutes dropping in every game this series, from 38 minutes in Game 1 to just over 32 minutes in Game 4. His inability to space the floor gives way to Otto Porter Jr. who could play some of Green’s minutes if the Warriors want to open the court up for Curry and company.

The former Defensive Player of the Year brings the passion and energy, and he still contributed 8 assists and 9 rebounds while on the court for those 32 minutes in Game 4, but there are others that give a different skillset Kerr might be finding success with.

Ultimately, I still expect Green to top 30 minutes, but his decline may continue as they home for Game 5.
