Golden State Warriors player that could see decreased minutes: Otto Porter Jr.

Game 4 was the Kevon Looney show, and while Otto Porter Jr. is still the top big man off the bench in terms of sharpshooting, Kerr may opt to give rookie Jonathan Kuminga more run if Porter Jr. continues to struggle.

Porter Jr. drew the start, although it was released late in the day. It shocked many as the Warriors haven’t been the better small-ball team so far in the series, and late in the game, they found themselves thriving with Looney, not a typical death lineup center.

Porter Jr. ended Game 4 with two points in 14 minutes, missing both attempts from the field. This was the fewest minutes Porter Jr. has received in the NBA Finals despite this being his first start of the postseason.

Porter Jr. was 7-for-9 from deep in the series prior to Game 4 which is incredibly impressive.

But, the Dubs may be finding success with Looney and could opt to go larger moving forward as the former top-five pick doesn’t pose much protection from the onslaught of offensive rebounding Boston has proven to have. Porter Jr. had just one rebound in those 14 minutes.

Even if they don’t strictly stay big, I’d be shocked not to see Kuminga getting spotty minutes moving forward.
