We’ve seen some fantastic NBA Finals performances over the last 10 years of Golden State Warriors’ basketball but this run from Stephen Curry is shaping up to be one of the best.

Long criticized for his lack of a Finals MVP, Curry is leaving no doubt in everyone’s mind that he’s worthy of the award. His Warriors are tied 2-2 with the Boston Celtics but it’s obvious who the best player on the floor is.

Stephen Curry is in the midst of the best NBA Finals series of his career and one of the best ever for the Golden State Warriors.

Curry is averaging 34.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists on red-hot 50/49/86 percent shooting splits.

He’s made 25 total 3-pointers in 4 games, already tied for the third-most by a player in a finals series and on pace to shatter the record of 32 (set by Curry himself). Did I mention he’s shooting almost 50% on these attempts?

Most 3-pointers in an NBA Finals series

  • 32 – Stephen Curry, 2015-16 (7 games)
  • 27 – Danny Green, 2012-13 (7 games)
  • 25 – Stephen Curry, 2021-22 (4 games)
  • 25 – Stephen Curry, 2014-15 (6 games)

At his rate of 6.3 3-pointers per game, Curry could finish the series with more than 43 deep ones if it goes to seven games.

If this wasn’t enough, his 34.3 points per game is the fourth highest of any player since 2006 and the 13th most all-time. His 50% shooting from the floor is the sixth highest of the bunch and his 3-point percentage is well… at the top of the list — but you could have guessed that.

We still have a lot of series left to play. It goes without saying the ultimate conclusion of the seires will sway Curry’s performance one way or the other on the all-time list. Yet, he is certainly on a good pace to stamp his name into the history books once again.

By the end of the next two (potentially three) games, Curry could break another 3-point record on unfathomable efficiency, add his entry into the highest-scoring finals in history, and claim his first Finals MVP award and fourth championship in eight years.

Pretty good, huh?
