A summer of growth

Repeating as NBA champs is not easy. The Golden State Warriors know this just as well as anyone else in the league. That’s why a summer of growth will be crucial for their title hopes.

Who has the most to grow this offseason? Likely the upcoming sophomores.

Moses Moody and Jonathan Kuminga showed promise as rookies. Moody flashed 3-and-D capabilities while Kuminga teased All-Star potential with his defense and ability to score in the paint.

Still, Moody and Kuminga played very limited roles, especially once the postseason began. A full summer of NBA-level training could help these two play more minutes next time around.

How about Jordan Poole? A finalist for Most Improved Player, the streaky sixth man can get even better by mastering the little things. We should hope to see Poole return as a slightly better defender and more consistent decision-maker.

Lastly, let’s hope Klay Thompson manages to spend the summer riding boats and working in the gym. Life will be easier next season for the Warriors if Thompson manages to shake off all the rust that restricted him this year.
