The Golden State Warriors are fresh off of their seventh championship in franchise history, putting them at third all-time in NBA history behind only the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics.

This was behind an inspiring series from Stephen Curry and first-time All-Star Andrew Wiggins, who managed to win the series in six games despite Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Jordan Poole not playing at the level we have learned to expect from them.

While this is great reason for the Warriors and fans to celebrate, the summer is short; the draft is just a few days away with free agency coming not long after.

There are many areas for the Warriors to improve their roster, especially since the Western Conference is becoming even tougher next season with players already moving to form dynamic duos.

Christian Wood being traded to the Dallas Mavericks already makes things much tougher for the Warriors as the Mavs were a team that threatened them without a quality center on their roster.

The Warriors also have coaching questions with Mike Brown leaving to coach the Sacramento Kings, although Kenny Atkinson deciding to stay does reduce the questions needing to be answered.

Multiple players have also had breakout seasons with the Warriors this year while being unrestricted this summer or becoming free agents next season. Extensions are likely to be given to some players while they will have to let other players go to help win number eight.

There is also the question of what to do during the draft this year, as the Golden State Warriors have also had an emphasis on building a young core to continue their success past the current era of Curry, Thompson, and Green.

Golden State still has a lot to figure out going forward. It isn’t all sunshine and rainbows on the road ahead, but here’s what an ideal offseason would look like.
