After winning the NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors should again be a hotspot for veteran free agents looking to compete for a championship.
Players like Carmelo Anthony should consider playing in the Bay Area following their return to relevance. The Dubs seemed more like a wildcard for those types of players last offseason, having missed the playoffs in two straight seasons.
The Golden State Warriors will have limited cap space this offseason and only a few holes to fill. Here are three players they should target.
Golden State, behind the Big 3 that won three titles in four seasons, ended third in the Western Conference which proved to be huge as they avoided the Phoenix Suns, who the Dallas Mavericks eliminated.
The Warriors beat the Nuggets, Grizzlies, Mavs, and then the Celtics. As they enter into the offseason, Golden State will have to be prepared to lose Otto Porter Jr., Gary Payton II, and Kevon Looney, all of which could leave for a bigger payday elsewhere.
That said, there are a few players the Warriors should target that should be within their price range. Having the second-worst salary cap position, money is tight, but Joe Lacob and company have always spent when necessary.
