Golden State Warriors free agent target: Kyle Anderson

The Warriors sent Kyle Anderson and the Grizzlies packing in the playoffs, but that doesn’t mean “Slo Mo” should avoid the Dubs now. Anderson’s 4-year, $37 million deal is coming to an end, and it doesn’t seem likely that he sees that type of money again.

Anderson did have a fairly successful four seasons in Memphis, but this past season didn’t quite go as planned. He averaged just 7.6 points per game and wasn’t a consistent starter.

Desmond Bane and Dillon Brooks were the starting two and three. Anderson’s efficiency also dipped under 45% and hit three-point shooting also isn’t a major threat. That’s what could bring Anderson within the Warriors’ price range.

Anderson and his team-first style of play would be welcome in the Bay. Anderson is a competent rebounder, averaging 5.3 boards per game in under two quarters of play. He’s also a playmaker which could be useful, especially if the Dubs lose Porter Jr. in free agency.

Being comfortable with the ball and able to create for the plethora of shooters the Dubs have would be a huge plus, and combine that with his rebounding, and Anderson should be a name the Warriors consider.
