The Golden State Warriors have to grip with the reality that Gary Payton II, one of their most important bench pieces, will not be there next season.

There are no harsh feelings toward anyone. Payton earned a three-year, $28 million dollar deal from the Portland Trail Blazers.

And, the Warriors could have matched the offer… but they didn’t.

The Golden State Warriors should target these three free agents in order to fill the void left by the loss of Gary Payton II.

A mistake?

Perhaps.

Something they can correct by adding a replacement for Payton? Also possible.

The free agency market has dried up quickly but some veteran guards are still available for the taking. Here are three players the Dubs can target to replace Payton’s defensive prowess.
