Miami Heat

Always a darkhorse candidate for a trophy run, the Miami Heat have been knocking on the door of greatness for three years. All they need is a little extra push to knock the door down.

Obtaining Kevin Durant will be no easy feat. They’d have to cough up a massive amount of money to make this work financially — as well as sacrifice something valuable enough to warrant a deal from Brooklyn’s perspective.

Some combination of Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo and Kyle Lowry would likely be required. Of course, a plethora of NBA Draft picks, too.

Let’s assume the Heat manage to add Durant without gutting the roster too much. Is a core of Herro, Durant and Butler strong enough to contend for a title? Would the Heat be better suited with Lowry, Adebayo and Durant? Is there any way to form a big four of Butler, Durant, Lowry and Bam?

Due to the limitations of this potential deal, the Heat should rank low on everyone’s list of teams to worry about. Even if they get Durant, their roster will suffer greatly.
