Warriors should sign Juancho Hernangomez

Hernangomez may be the perfect player to replace Porter Jr. He was the Nuggets first-round pick in 2016 and spent his first few seasons with Denver. He’s played with Minnesota, Boston, San Antonio and Utah since.

Hernangomez is the type of player that could be molded into a key rotational player for Steve Kerr. He had a 35% career three-point shooting percentage but was hitting over 40% of his attempts from deep as a rookie.

Hernangomez played 40 games split between three teams last season which is why his mere 4.4 points per game average shouldn’t make most warry of his potential. Hernangomez was a top-15 pick for reason.

He’s a lengthy 6-foot-9 and can shoot from the perimeter while also using that wingspan to defend at a high level. As long as Hernangomez can make open shots and defend well, he would be welcome in Golden State.

For the sake of his career’s longevity and his next contract, joining Golden State may be his best move and certainly would be a win-win situation.
