The thought crossed everyone’s mind at least once. When Kevin Durant announced he was demanding a trade — we all considered what a reunion with the Golden State Warriors would look like.

For most, the thought experiment hit a brick wall when looking at Durant’s salary. A Warriors team that is already historically overpriced (though, still worth every penny) is not exactly in a position to trade for a player who is making $40 million a year.

The only way to get Durant would be through a seismic change of the Dubs’ roster. A roster that quite literally just won a championship.

So, no, most of us did not expect to hear reports that the Warriors are actually interested in trading with the Brooklyn Nets.

Now, take this report with a grain of salt, as always. But, let’s take a look at three ways the Dubs could actually get involved in this fiasco. Keep in mind, they do not have to trade directly for Durant in order to benefit from Brooklyn’s pending firesale.
