The Golden State Warriors have put together an impressive young core of prospects. Throughout the last several NBA Drafts, the Warriors have added many rising stars, most recently drafting Patrick Baldwin Jr.
Jordan Poole was really the only up-and-coming player that had a key role throughout the team’s NBA Championship run, but it’s far more than just Poole leading the youth development in the Bay Area.
The Golden State Warriors inked Kevon Looney to a three-year deal and could look to add an elite stretch four instead of retaining prospect James Wiseman.
Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody are two other names that Golden State will want to keep around for the long-term future. Preparing to keep those three players around while also figuring out how the Big 3 will view their next contract won’t be easy discussions for the Dubs.
Then, you have former No. 2 overall pick James Wiseman. Wiseman missed all of last season and is primed to play in the Las Vegas Summer League. The young center will be the second unit’s premier frontcourt player this coming season.
However, with Kevon Looney at the starting five and locked up for three more seasons, Golden State could prefer to add youth behind Draymond Green and bring in a stretch-four talent at the same time, getting two birds with one stone.
Wiseman may not have a long-term spot on the roster. While it doesn’t appear the Dubs have an interest in trading Wiseman, let’s dive into 7 different trade concepts they should consider.
