Warriors’ James Wiseman to Washington Wizards

The Warriors could add immense depth to their roster with this trade. On the flip side, the Wizards just re-signed Bradley Beal and will want to build around the star guard.

Wiseman could be the risk they need, especially with Deni Avdija and Kyle Kuzma on the roster as well. Even Corey Kispert will start to eat into the minutes of the former lottery pick. However, Thomas Bryant may not return which would leave a gaping hole at the five.

Wiseman could fill that hole, and he has the potential to be a far better offensive weapon than Gafford. Given Gafford’s efficiency and Hachimura’s ability to shoot from deep, this should also intrigue the Warriors enough.

Hachimura shot 45% from deep in 42 games last season. Couple that with Gafford who would be excellent as a backup to Kevon Looney before being able to take over the reins, and this trade makes sense if the Dubs prefer the win-now route.

What Wiseman brings this season combined with what the Warriors have already lost in free agency and their restricted cap space make this deal something worth considering.
