Golden State Warriors’ Porter Jr. replacement: LaMarcus Aldridge

At 6-foot-11, Aldridge, who was teammates with Griffin in Brooklyn last season, would provide more size and rebounding yet less versatility on the defensive end. That perfect mixture is what made Porter Jr. such a great addition.

While it would be a different skill set, Aldridge would add a dimension to the Warriors’ offense.

He shot 55% from the field last season, the highest of his career. He hit .3 triples per game, so it is possible for him to step behind the arc. Given his limited playing time, that improved to .5 per game. He is a 32% career three-point shooter.

Aldridge is a seven-time All-Star and was, at one point, among the best-scoring big men in the league. He averaged 12.9 points per game last season. He’ll be 37 years old soon, so the expectations can’t be high for Aldridge.

Considering what he could bring on and off the court, looking into bringing in the former star could be wise, especially with the loss of Bjelica who provided size off the bench.
