Warriors must address: The stretch-four player

The Warriors need to find a stretch-four player, and given their small-ball desires, it would be shocking to see them not pick up someone with that skill set.

Immediately, names like the Nets’ Blake Griffin or the Heat’s Markieff Morris come to mind. Even Aron Baynes could fit that mold as he’s still available and looking primed for a return. Carmelo Anthony is another name to keep an eye on.

Nonetheless, with Andre Iguodala having aged out of big-time minutes, they’ll be searching for a player to compete alongside Curry, Thompson, Wiggins, and Green.

Last season, Porter Jr. filled that role well, especially when the Warriors opted to not play Poole, mainly as the Dubs would be extremely small with that lineup. Porter Jr.’s absence is made even more detrimental when you realize that center Nemanja Bjelica also will not be back.

Couple the absence of both frontcourt players, and the Dubs should be targeting players capable of shooting from deep and switching onto guards defensively. It’s a key skill set, and it’s one it would be shocking to see the Dubs not target as the offseason progresses.
