Golden State Warriors can target LaMarcus Aldridge

On the brink of retirement just a year ago, LaMarcus Aldridge returned to the NBA this season to compete in 47 games with the Brooklyn Nets.

Never an elite athlete, Aldridge has spent most of his days as a post player who can face up from the elbow and drill you to sleep with jump shots. He has occasionally expanded his game to the 3-point line, shooting a career-high 41.1% from deep in 2017.

Since then, Aldridge’s athleticism has declined, making an already slow player a tad slower. In a league where defensive versatility is needed, Aldridge is a detriment.

His shooting has wavered, too. He shot only 30.4% from the 3-point line last season.

Nevertheless, Aldridge was still a 55% shooter from the field and averaged 12.9 points with Brooklyn. It’s unclear how much gas he has left in the tank but the veteran big man is worth considering.
