Golden State Warriors can target Carmelo Anthony

A player with a ton of starpower behind his name, Carmelo Anthony is no longer the world-beating three-level scorer he once was but he is still capable of helping an NBA team.

It’s been a quiet redemption arch for Melo, who was out of the league only a few years ago. He made a successful return to the NBA by establishing himself as a role player in Portland before serving as a contributor for a mess of a Los Angeles Lakers team.

Though he is a minus defender, Melo has embraced his bench role. He averaged 13.3 points and 4.2 rebounds on 37.5% 3-point shooting last season.

The Warriors would gain two things from adding Carmelo. Firstly, an experienced veteran who is hungry for a ring. Second, a frontcourt player who can rebound and shoot the ball with precision.

It is a downgrade from Otto Porter Jr. but a decent consolation prize.
