Golden State Warriors top free agent target: LaMarcus Aldridge

At one point in his career, Aldridge was among the best and most efficient scorers in the league. His elbow jumper with his high release has proven to be virtually unblockable.

Aldridge has shown an ability to step up from behind the arc now. He attempted a three per game last season with the Nets and shot 30% from deep. After thinking his career was over with a heart condition, Aldridge got the all-clear.

He was terrific last season with the Nets, averaging 12.9 points per game and shooting 55% from the field. While Aldridge isn’t the best shot blocker, at 6-foot-11, he does offer some spacing and also rebound at a high level.

Considering they have Wiseman who should be able to meet players at the rim, finding the skill set capable of stretching the court, with Aldridge possesses, should be even more important for the Warriors.

Aldridge is also a former All-Star and a veteran in his own right. He should be available on the veteran’s minimum, and there’s doubt about it that Golden State should look to sign the former star center.
