3 reasons Golden State Warriors should be top West threats for Kevin Durant

The Golden State Warriors have an interest in Kevin Durant, as does the bulk of the NBA.

While the situation has cooled as of late, there’s still reason to believe the former MVP may not return to Brooklyn. Then again, he is under contract for the next several years, so the Nets don’t have to be in a rush to trade him despite any requests.

The Golden State Warriors should be considered among the favorites in the NBA and may be the top threat in the West to land superstar forward Kevin Durant.

For many contenders, it seems the offers Brooklyn has laid out have been too intense, and that could be the same situation for the Warriors are in.

Golden State is among the teams that aren’t necessarily in a situation where they have to mortgage the future for a chance at an NBA Championship, and they proved that this past season. However, most would suggest that the Dubs have gotten worse this offseason.

They lost Gary Payton II and Otto Porter Jr., who of the only eight players in their NBA Finals rotation. They’ll ask that young talent to step up which is a risk and a clear reason why Durant could be worth the price.

That said, the Warriors should be among the teams at the forefront of teams in the West able to trade for the 33-year-old star. Let’s dive into three reasons why that’s the case.
