Why the Warriors are West favorites: They have connections

Kevin Durant played in Golden State for three seasons.

Two-time MVP Stephen Curry has already reached out to Durant, several times. That type of chemistry is something that no other team in the NBA can bring. Even his past franchises like Oklahoma City don’t have many similarities to when he was there.

Durant, as seen above, even spent time in Team USA with other Warriors. While it may hurt his legacy, at the end of the day, having those types of already-established relationships could push the edge, especially on the Warriors’ side of the table.

While Curry has typically let the front office do their thing and build around him, if he has a say and wants Durant, there’s no reason to believe they wouldn’t do their best to get Curry his former teammate.

It would make the Warriors immediate title favorites for at least the next two seasons and solidify them as one of the best dynasties (probably the best) in NBA history.
