Why the Warriors are West favorites: The window makes perfect sense

As inferred in the previous slide, the Warriors are trying to marry two different windows together and keep their playoff-contending organization at the top of the Western Conference for several more seasons.

There’s no guarantee that after the general talent that is Stephen Curry decides to retire that Poole, Kuminga, and Moody will be able to get to that level. However, Curry with Durant, Green, and Thompson coasted through the NBA for two seasons.

All should want to add to their legacy, and when together, they are undoubtedly the team to beat. Curry only has so many high-caliber seasons remaining, and it would make sense for Bob Myers and company to do all they can to help make him a champion again.

The Warriors have built a team that is set up for a long-term future, but without key pieces, they may not have the same success next season. Or, at the very least, teams like Denver, Memphis, Phoenix, and Dallas will catch up significantly.

Taking advantage of the 2-3 window that’s been given to them would set them back quite a bit when talking about 10 years down the road, but for now, it would easily make them next season’s title favorites, which they currently are not.
