There aren’t many teams that have the perfect storm of reasons and players that make trading for superstar forward Kevin Durant feasible. The Warriors are one of the teams that can marry the two together.
For starters, over the last several seasons, a mixture of their poor play and thought-out trades has led them to draft in the lottery, and they’ve hit home runs with many of those picks, including former No. 28 overall selection Jordan Poole.
The Golden State Warriors could be among the teams able to trade for former MVP Kevin Durant, and these five players would likely be part of any trade.
Golden State has four max-contract players, so in any trade, at least one of them would have to be included as well.
First-time All-Star Andrew Wiggins is the clear odd-man out as Draymond Green and Klay Thompson have an almost zero percent chance of being dealt. The chance that Stephen Curry is traded is zero.
The Warriors could capitalize even further on the generational talent that is Curry if they bring back Durant to help him win a few more titles. That’s the main reasoning behind any trade for the four-time scoring champion.
That said, let’s look into a ranking of how the Warriors assets should be viewed in relationship to a Durant deal.
