Warriors player apart of Kevin Durant trade: Jonathan Kuminga

Having slid in the draft because of his inconsistencies as a playmaker and questions regarding his shot selection and ability to adapt to the NBA’s style of play, Kuminga has all the traits of a rising superstar.

While his summer league performances left quite a bit to be desired, he had a surprisingly successful rookie season, averaging 9.3 points per game while shooting 51% from the field.

Kuminga had five 20-point games, a couple of which he even connected on four triples. His shooting could use improvement, but having shot 50% from the field in 16 playoff games as well, Kuminga is efficient and should also be able to improve upon his rookie season.

Not even 20 years old, Kuminga is still not even close to his prime. He’s under contract for the next three seasons as well with the last two being a team option.

If the Warriors are willing to part ways with Kuminga after having an incredibly successful rookie season, it would only be for a player like Durant, but make no mistake, if Durant has any potential to be dealt to Golden State, Kuminga will be part of the deal.
