James Wiseman might not be ready

At his best, James Wiseman has Chris Bosh 2.0 written all over him. He can be the perfect floor-spacing five to usher in the new era of Golden State Warriors basketball.

Only, Wiseman looks far from reaching his full potential just yet.

It’s strange to think that someone drafted in 2020 still has not shown nearly enough to make any judgments but… Wiseman really hasn’t played much yet.

His limited sample size has made it difficult to evaluate Wiseman’s development. With this being said, it’s fair to guess that he won’t be ready to carry a heavy load, specifically from the 3-point line, by next season.

Wiseman shot just 31.6% from the 3-point line on 38 total attempts as a rookie. In order to be a true floor-spacer, he would have had to improve significantly since his injury in 2021.

I don’t know about you but I would not feel confident in Wiseman blossoming into a reliable threat from deep this soon.
