With free agency dragging on, the Golden State Warriors had seemingly stalled in their pursuit for more talent.

However, that doesn’t seem to be the case as the team will reportedly sign JaMychal Green following a buyout with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Green spent last season with the Denver Nuggets, the team Golden State eliminated in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.

The Golden State Warriors have found their stretch-four replacement for Otto Porter Jr. in the recent signing of JaMychal Green.

The Warriors needed more help in their frontcourt.

Coming off an NBA Championship, many of their key pieces will remain the same as two-time Stephen Curry will return and players like Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andrew Wiggins remained locked up.

The Dubs did lose Gary Payton II who is taking his talents to the Trail Blazers. They tried to replace their defensive mastermind with former Bucks first-round pick and NBA Champion Donte DiVincenzo.

Golden State still has another roster spot that could be used for additional frontcourt depth. With that in mind, let’s dive into why Green was the perfect addition for the Warriors.
