Why JaMychal Green was a perfect signing for Warriors: Experience
The Golden State Warriors are looking to run it back. Stephen Curry, as Joe Lacob alluded to in a recent interview, still has much of his prime left despite being 34.
He showed his abilities last season. The Dubs seem confident that without Kevin Durant they can still be title favorites. With that desire, a team also needs players that have been there, and James Wiseman hasn’t been.
Even Bjelica didn’t see much time in the rotation. As for Green, he’s been to the playoffs seven times on three different teams with his best stretch of play coming with the Clippers.
Green averaged 6.4 points per game and shot 49% from the field this past season. His three-point shooting at 27% is a bit underwhelming, but his looks at the bucket should be better with the Warriors.
Having been in the NBA eight seasons, the recently-turned 32-year-old Green should have enough left in the tank while also carrying with him the pedigree of a player that’s missed the playoffs just once in his almost decade-long career.
