There seems to be two sides to the discussion when considering a Kevin Durant trade.

For the Golden State Warriors, it would automatically make them title favorites for at least the next two seasons; however, it would also cost almost everything they’ve worked tirelessly to build for the last three seasons.

The Golden State Warriors were once thought to be the best landing place for former MVP Kevin Durant. GM Bob Myers crushed that pipe dream.

Durant is under contract for at least the next four seasons and will already be 34 years old by the start of next season. It seems the fanbase is relatively split on whether it’s worth trading for the superstar or not.

All that for a player they aren’t even confident wants to return to the Bay Area was always going to be a dangerous move, but given their prior relationship with Durant, they likely would’ve known his intentions prior to any trade.

While everything has grown relatively silent over the past week, general manager Bob Myers gave us an indirect thought about what the team’s position likely is when it comes to bringing Durant back for a second stint in Golden State.

Myers, in an interview with NBA.com’s Mark Medina, discussed the Warriors wild postseason run and implied the Dubs aren’t going to be shaking up their roster to trade for the four-time scoring champion.

“I like our team and where it’s at. I want to give the guys a chance to do it again,” Myers said.

Basically speaking, Myers isn’t going to make the blockbuster trade that Golden State is capable of, and that’s probably siding with how most Warriors’ fans feel.

The Warriors have had more transactions than just those rumors this offseason, having lost out on Gary Payton II and Otto Porter Jr. What Myers is saying also resonates with those players that have parted ways.

Moving into the new seasons, Myers seems confident.

Recently bringing in JaMychal Green to give that stretch-four role undoubtedly calmed some nerves. The Dubs didn’t have a three-point shooter that could also be a small-ball center on the roster. Green provides what they lost in Porter Jr.

That said, don’t expect many eye-popping moves by Golden State from here on out as they seem set in their ways, and after a fourth title in eight seasons, you can’t blame them for thinking they can repeat with the roster they currently have.
