3 Golden State Warriors best suited for a career year next season
Golden State Warriors player best-suited for breakout: Moses Moody
The Golden State Warriors will have two players they hope to break into the rotation this season. One of them is former lottery pick Moses Moody, who was taken 14th overall in the 2021 NBA Draft.
Moody played in two summer league games, averaging a league-high 27.5 points per game and shooting 44% from the field. He shot 25 free throws in those two games as well, so his aggression was on full display.
During his rookie season, Moody averaged 4.4 points per game and shot 44% from the field. He was given a spot in the rotation typically when injuries occurred and also played a larger role prior to Klay Thompson returning to the lineup.
With Payton II no longer on the roster, Moody should see more than 11.7 minutes per game. While he’ll still split time with DiVincenzo at the backup two spot, Moody could also see minutes behind Andrew Wiggins if Andre Iguodala decides to call it a career.
Regardless, the opportunity will be there for Moody, and after his showing in summer league, there should be hope he becomes a key rotational player for the Dubs.
