Golden State Warriors player that could be traded: James Wiseman

The Warriors just re-signed Kevon Looney, and he’ll be the starting center this upcoming season. Wiseman still has the potential to be a star, and he’d really only be useful as a trade chip in a blockbuster deal.

But, if that’s a ballpark the Warriors are wanting to be in, especially with the notes on Wiggins, then it would make sense. Wiseman missed all of last season and showed some of that sky-high potential in the 2K23 Summer League. He also shot 52% from the field as a rookie.

Standing 7-foot and just 21 years old, Wiseman could still be a star, and after making a couple of threes in Vegas, his shooting may have the upside to help him become a perimeter threat as well. Wiseman is set to make $9.6 million this season and $12.1 million the following season.

While it may not be ideal to trade him, if becoming title favorites is within the Warriors’ grasp, Wiseman could be among the players dealt. Kuminga and Jordan Poole still seem like the premier young players for Golden State’s long-term plans.

Wiseman has potential, and that’s exactly why teams may call hoping he’s available. At the right price, there’s no denying he could be.
