It has been a hectic offseason for the Golden State Warriors as they set their eyes on building a roster capable of repeating as NBA Champions.
With two-time MVP Stephen Curry under contract, they should undoubtedly be a playoff team. Draymond Green, Jordan Poole, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins returning next season will also allow them to maintain most of their production from a season ago.
The Golden State Warriors will have an interesting mix of experience and youth, and for those without a locked-in role, it will allow for some position battles.
Golden State lost Gary Payton II and Otto Porter Jr. However, they have youth to replace them. Instead of just relying on their youth to step up, the Warriors have added Donte DiVencenzo, a former champion with the Milwaukee Bucks.
He was Milwaukee’s first-round pick in 2018. To bring back that stretch-four skill set, the Dubs added JaMychal Green who spent last season with the Denver Nuggets. Both will be fighting for the role of their predecessor.
With many up-and-coming prospects, the Warriors will be looking to give minutes to numerous players. Considering that, let’s dive into three position battles we’ll want to keep an eye on in the coming months.
