The Golden State Warriors’ former second-round pick Eric Paschall will stay in the Western Conference, signing with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Paschall inked a two-way contract after a stint with the Jazz.
The Dubs drafted Paschall back in 2019. He was the 11th pick of the second round and 41st overall selection. Paschall had a decorated collegiate career with the Villanova Wildcats before joining the NBA.
The Golden State Warriors will continue to face their former second-round pick with forward Eric Paschall set to join the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Paschall played two full seasons with the Warriors. By far his best season was when the Warriors won just 15 games. However, Paschall averaged 15 points per game and shot 49.7% from the field.
At just 6-foot-6, Paschall is a competent and efficient big man but certainly does lack some size.
He followed up his rookie season, in which he started 26 games, with a 40-game, 2-start season. He once again shot 49.7% from the field but saw his scoring drop to 9.5 per game and his minutes off by 10, down to 17.4 per game.
After his second season in Golden State, he was traded to Utah, where he spent one season. Paschall continued his efficient play, shooting 48.5% from the field and a career-high 37% from deep.
He played in 58 games, starting just 3. It was a tough season for the Jazz, an organization that seems to be restructuring how they play. Paschall scored a career-low 5.8 points per game.
Paschall will now be taking his talent to Minnesota per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
While his opportunities will likely be far more limited in Minnesota, he should pose a great option for additional depth and eventually get a shot to be on the 15-man roster. The efficiency and upside are there, but his size and lack of impact defensively have certainly hampered his career.
Paschall was great to have in Golden State for a few seasons, and we wish him all the best with his new franchise.
