2. Andrew Wiggins is a better defender

You knew this one was coming.

Aside from their varying roles on offense, Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole could not be any more different when it comes to the defensive end.

Wiggins,  a 6’7″ wing, is always going to have an advantage over the shorter Poole.

Since joining the Dubs, Wiggins has evolved into one of the NBA’s premiere perimeter defenders. He accepted the challenge of defending elite scorers all throughout the playoffs and passed each test with flying colors.

Meanwhile, Poole was taken off the floor in multiple games due to his weakness on defense. When his shot isn’t falling, it’s hard to justify keeping Poole on the floor.

This isn’t an issue for Wiggins. Even on Wiggins’ worst shooting nights, his value on defense is too much to ignore.
