Jordan Poole should make the sacrifice

We all know Jordan Pools has earned a payday.

Once a fringe G-League player, Poole rapidly ascended into an honorary Splash Brother last season. His frenetic energy and dazzling offensive skills helped Poole lead the Golden State Warriors to a championship.

And yet, someone has to sign for less than they are worth if the Warriors want to keep this championship group together long-term.

If anyone on this roster is primed to make a sacrifice in the form of a pay cut, it’s Poole.

At 23 years of age, Poole doesn’t have the years of experience his peers do. He’s only just getting started and it’s hard to imagine the Dubs giving him a max contract extension at the cost of losing one of their more established players.

It’s unclear how much money Poole is expecting to earn but for now, it makes sense for JP to sign for less and wait for his big check in a few years.
