Andrew Wiggins could be a trade piece

Signing Andrew Wiggins might be the toughest part for Golden State. The All-Star forward spent the first 90% of his contract being dubbed “overrated” before finally emerging as an elite two-way forward worth every penny.

Wiggins might already feel like he has sacrificed enough. He’s accepted a role behind Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and even Jordan Poole at times (though, this decision was mutually beneficial).

And, not to go unnoticed, Wiggins put his personal beliefs aside last season to get vaccinated — a decision he regrets.

All this considered, Wiggins probably isn’t looking to make any more sacrifices. He likely wants to get paid and the Warriors don’t have much reason to deny him.

The options here are simple. If the Dubs can afford to bring Wiggins back, they’ll do it. If the finances get too tight, they can look to swing Wiggins in a sign-and-trade.

Or, they’ll lose him for nothing.
