Draymond Green is vital

You will not find anyone within the Golden State Warriors’ organization arguing against Draymond green’s importance.

Without Draymond, this isn’t a championship team.

Just how long will Dray continue to have that impact is unclear. But I wouldn’t expect the Dubs to test this theory by letting him go too early.

If Green wants a max contract extension, you give it to him. He’s proven his worth over and over again. Say what you will, but you aren’t finding a better glue guy than Draymond at this stage in Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson’s careers.

Signing Green to a long-term extension could wind up disastrous. He’s entering his mid-30s and his lack of a jump shot is enough reason to question his longevity in this league.

Nonetheless, you just can’t lose a guy like Draymond because you’re being cheap. Even if he wasn’t so valuable, his tenure with the team alone is enough to keep him on the roster.

So long as the Warriors are hunting championships, Green needs to be with them.
