Golden State Warriors player that shouldn’t be dealt: Jordan Poole

Finding value for Poole from those potentially wanting him in a trade should make him ultimately impossible to deal. Poole is the most developed rising star for the Warriors, averaging around 26 points per game over the last few weeks with Curry out.

Poole is playing on a team option this season, and it seems more view him as the odd man out moving forward, making it impossible to keep both Wiggins and Poole around for the long-term future. It would only make sense to trade Poole then, right?

Well, given the Warriors want to run it back, that doesn’t seem like much of an option. In terms of a team finding trade value in Poole, they would also need to know that he would sign on for the long term.

Poole is a free agent after this season and is coming off a season averaging 18.5 points per game. He has weaknesses, primarily defensively, but his offensive firepower makes it worth it. With where the Warriors are and Poole’s contract situation, they wouldn’t get his full value in a trade.

Poole should be off the table as teams would more likely low-ball Golden State, and the Warriors should be looking to repeat as NBA Champions with the young stud on the roster.
