Golden State Warriors player that shouldn’t be dealt: Jonathan Kuminga

Jonathan Kuminga has the highest ceiling of any Warriors’ prospect. He showed flashes of that as a rookie, and while he slipped up in the 2K23 Las Vegas Summer League, there’s still not telling how good Kuminga will be able to get.

Kuminga is the opposite of Poole and is under contract for at least three more seasons, the last two of which are on a team option which the Dubs will undoubtedly agree to. Kuminga is an athletic 6-foot-8 and has sky-high potential on both sides of the court.

He averaged 9.3 points per game last season, shooting 51.3% from the field. He also shot 34% from deep which helps his value as well. Kuminga had 4 games of 22 or more points, shooting 60% or better in all but one.

His efficiency, contract and upside make him an invaluable part of the Warriors franchise. Kuminga could be dealt, but it doesn’t seem likely as he’s part of the Dubs long-term plans. He’s also just 19 years old.
