Golden State Warriors player that shouldn’t be dealt: Patrick Baldwin Jr.

The last player that the Warriors should avoid trading is Patrick Baldwin Jr., and while many might have expected Wiseman or Wiggins, it’s key to understand what the Warriors staff has done in developing talent.

Look at Poole, who was in the G-League for stints throughout his first two seasons. He has increased his scoring about 60% in each season and certainly struggled as a rookie, mainly with his efficiency.

Baldwin Jr. had the potential coming out of high school and had big-name colleges recruit him. He has major injuries issues that limited his freshman season, and given his size, shooting and potential, the Warriors should want to see what he’s capable of.

Baldwin Jr. played in 11 games at Milwaukee, averaging 12.1 points per game. He’s a 6-foot-9 shooting guard, so he could have a similar skill set to that of Thompson, especially given the length he could provide defensively.

He was a top-five recruit in the Class of 2021. Baldwin Jr. might be a player the Warriors shop to find a Kevin Durant-like star, but it’s unlikely that he’s dealt given his lesser value as compared to the Warriors’ other prospects.
