The line has been drawn in the sand. It’s either Kevin Durant or Steve Nash, for the Brooklyn Nets. What does this mean for the Golden State Warriors?

KD has provided the Nets with an ultimatum. Either trade him or get rid of the head coach he helped pick out only two years ago.

While this might sound like a no-brainer, and truthfully it is, KD’s ultimatum has left the Warriors with a clear opportunity to trade for him.

The Nets would be foolish to choose a struggling head coach over arguably the greatest scorer to ever pick up a basketball. But, the NBA is a strange, strange place.

Kevin Durant has provided Brooklyn with an ultimatum and possibly a conclusion to the Golden State Warriors trade rumors.

If Durant ends up on the trading block, we already know Golden State is a possible destination.

Aside from their history, the fact remains the Warriors can offer Durant a chance at winning. A better chance than any other team, to be frank.

There’s no question as to if Durant and Stephen Curry can mesh. They’ve done it before and it would be no problem to do it all over again.

The Dubs would have to pay the price to acquire Durant, though. Coughing up loads of first round draft picks and some members of the young core is brutal. Winning champions, on the other hand, should ease the pain.

With all this being said, Durant’s reunion with Golden State is likely a pipe dream.

I don’t think anyone should expect Brooklyn to part ways with KD. Not after reigning in Kyrie Irving and adding a potential fix-all piece in Ben Simmons. No, this trio needs to at least touch the floor together before the Nets blow it up.

Bad news for Nash? Probably.

But with this situation hopefully coming to a prompt conclusion, the Warriors can focus on the task ahead and forget about bringing KD back to the Bay.
