Untouchable non-Steph Curry Warriors player: Klay Thompson

Klay Thompson has been a staple of the Warriors franchise for almost just as long as Curry has.

While his injuries did set him back in terms of athleticism, Thompson proved throughout the playoffs that his shooting touch is still there. He played in 32 games throughout the regular season, averaging 20.4 points per game.

Thompson averaged 19 points per game and shot 39% from deep during the playoffs, having several big-time performances in key close-out games. Thompson is 32 years old and is under contract for two more seasons.

No team is going to pay the value plus the premium for a player that may want a max contract at 34. On top of that, the Warriors are going to need Thompson in order to make another postseason run.

Thompson has the tenure to be a Warrior for life if he wants it, and it’s extremely unlikely he’s ever discussed in any trade deal.
