Untouchable non-Steph Curry Warriors player: Jonathan Kuminga

While one could look at Jordan Poole and see the next Warriors star, fate may not agree with that. Poole averaged 18.6 points per game last season and is one the final season of his rookie contract.

Draymond Green will need a new extension and Klay Thompson will need a new contract soon as well. Jonathan Kuminga, on the other hand, could be set up for long-term success in the Bay Area, especially considering his contract situation.

Kuminga will be set for a new deal at the perfect time and has shown unmatched potential. He averaged 9.3 points per game this past season and shot 51.3% from the field which is highly impressive for a rookie.

His cutting, shooting, defense and playmaking all showed glimpses of a player that could be a star as well. While his instincts defensively could use some help, that should improve as his time in the league does as well.

Kuminga has the potential to be one of the top-20 players in the NBA, and given how his contracts line up with the Big 3, he has a better chance of being the long-term bet for Golden State.
