Superstar trade that could impact Warriors: Kevin Durant

This one is obvious, but Kevin Durant being dealt would change the title favorite pecking order drastically. Durant is arguably the best player in the NBA.

Durant’s current situation has lost some steam, and it seems likely he stays in Brooklyn. However, the four-time scoring champion and former MVP does still have enough pull to demand a trade if the Nets can’t figure out how to appease the star.

Durant is under contract for the next four seasons and is coming a year in which he averaged 29.9 points per game and shot 52% from the field (38% from deep). Durant also averaged 7.4 rebounds and 6.4 assists.

The problem for most franchises is that he would command several young players and will be 34 years old prior to next season commencing. Finding value will be tough for Brooklyn, but if Durant wants out, he’s going to make it happen.

The Warriors are a market, but considering it would take Andrew Wiggins, Jordan Poole, Jonathan Kuminga, James Wiseman and company to start the conversation, it seems unlikely that will come to fruition. Boston or Toronto both seem like possible suitors.
